Grimoldi - Monforte Collection

From the designer Cesare Grimoldi:

“Monforte is inspired by a 1930s military watch which I admire as a secret treasure from my personal collection, a watch simple but everlasting, full of personality. I want my creation Monforte to be a watch that is versatile, could be transformed in shape and dimension, without changing its Retro spirit.

As a watch collector, I always play with my passion for watch, substitute original straps with other colours and materials depending on my feelings. For this reason I would like “My” watch not only to be a watch, but also not one single watch only. It was a splendid warm Sunday, the first day after a long chilly winter. I found myself excitedly geared for a great tour on motorcycle, suddenly I realized I was overdressed for this sunny ride, while taking off the interior of my jacket,

Monforte came to my mind:

A second case that embraces the real case as a glove, and a particular leather bracelet like those of the ancient Romans.

Monforte is gorgeous, elegant and masculine.

I designed it for myself and all collectors who, like me, could never be easily satisfied.”
